Product Description

This is an ergonomic treenware wooden spoon for serving and stirring carved from Black Walnut, cherry or Maple wood.

12.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide.

This spoon’s handle is ergonomically shaped and fits the hand. It’s a pleasure to hold and use. The handle is 1 1/4 inches wide at its widest point. The bowl is set at a slight angle to the handle and has a curved rim.

Wood: Check the drop-down menu for species availability. Cherry is reddish brown and darkens to a rich red color over time. Walnut is dark chocolate brown with dark brown or black grain lines. It doesn’t change much in color over time, except at the front end of the bowl, it will usually darken to an almost black color. Maple is light creamy tan to brown with a prominent ray fleck figure and darker brown or reddish grain lines. It is the king of wood for utensils. It’s practically indestructible. It tends to take on a golden honey patina, except in the bowl, it may become a darker brown over time. The patina is very attractive.

The spoons shown are examples, and yours will vary slightly in grain pattern and color.

It was treated with a beeswax and mineral oil mixture. I will include a maintenance kit with instructions and the recipe for making the mixture, but you can use Olive Oil or Walnut Oil if you like.

Care is easy. Wash in hot, soapy water and towel dry. Apply new oil as often as you like. If treated with oil or our oil and beeswax mixture often, your tool will age gracefully and take on a beautiful patina.

x is antimicrobial.
